ReadMe for ProxiWeb 3.0 Beta 2
==============================

Welcome to ProxiWeb 3.0 Beta 2.  ProxiWeb is ProxiNet's full-featured
web browser for handheld computers. Features include:

	o *NEW* Icon bar for easy navigation
	o *NEW* Improved structure with direct access to Modem and
            Network Preferences
	o *NEW* Database Versioning for updating old databases
	o SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption for sending data
      securely over the Internet
    o Basic client authentication (username/password prompting)
	o Cookies
	o Inline and full-size image display
	o Full support for HTML forms 
	o Server-side imagemaps
	o Bookmarks, caching, and most of the other
	  features you expect from a web browser

Bug fixes included in this release include:

	o ISP dialup fix: only need to tap the Cancel button once to cancel
      the modem dialing
	o Cache expiration:  History list is no longer stored in the 
	  list of cached pages.  
	  

INSTALLATION
============

After downloading, unarchive the file into the directory where
your Palm software resides. If you're using the Palm Desktop,
this directory is normally named 'add-on'. Install all the
files beginning with "PrxWeb". If you're re-installing from
a previous version of ProxiWeb, do not install
PrxWebBookmarks.pdb.

Now perform a hotsync.



OBTAINING A SECURITY PROFILE (important!)
=========================================

In order to use the Cookies and SSL features, you need to
sign up for a free account with ProxiNet.  To sign up for an account,
please visit http://www.proxinet.com .  Once you have received your
username and password through email, run ProxiWeb and click on the
'Menu' button located next to the Graffiti area on your pilot.  Next,
tap on 'ProxiWeb', in the menubar, and then tap 'Prefs...' in the
dropdown menu.  Now, tap on the 'Security...' button at the bottom of
the Prefs dialog, and the Security dialog will come up.  Enter your
username and password into the fields provided.  You're now ready to
surf with cookies and SSL security!
