To access the settings in Dollars and Cents, select the File menu and then tap on Settings item.
This will bring up the setting dialog box:
The first item on the settings dialog page is the Repeating Transactions settings box. Enter the number of days in advance that you would like your repeating transactions to be entered here.
The dropdown list is there to allow you to select which Account you want to be automatically selected when you start up Dollars and Cents.
The next dropdown list is the date format - select how you wish the date to be displayed and exported to text files using this menu.
The Quicken QIF Date checkbox should be checked if you are using Quicken and want to import or export to it. If you use Microsoft Money, you should not check this.
The Show Cents checkbox allows you to specify whether you want to display the cents portion of the totals on the main screen. If you uncheck the checkbox, the amounts are shown without cents - this is best used on the PalmTop devices to save viewing area space.
The Auto Enter Repeats allows you to specify whether you want Dollard and CEnts to automatically enter repeating transactions whenever you launch the app. Checking this box will make it check for repeating transactions each time it is launched.
The Auto backup entries on the settings dialog box allow you to configure Dollars and CEnts to automatically create .CSV backups of all your data on a regular basis.
The first field is the interval of the backup - how often it is to back up - by default this is 5 which means that the backup gets made every fifth launch. The second number is the maximum number of these backups to keep before overwriting the first one. Entering 5 here would ensure you always have 5 different backups stored in the directory.
